Great story. Yesterday was a typical day at the Utah College of Dental Hygiene. Some of us were in lab. Some of us were studying. Some of us were sitting around chatting on our 2 hour break. For the most part, just doing what we normally do on a Thursday morning. Then our professor comes in..."Channel 4 News is coming to the school!!! Everyone pull your hair back, jewelry off, scrubs and lab coats ironed and look professional!" It was a little bit of chaos. Just imagine when an unexpected guest arrives at your home and you hurry and clean everything up. Not that our school is in anyway dirty but heavens it was the Salt Lake news! We wanted to give our little private school a good name! So everyone was cleaning up the classrooms, arranging the lab coats, fixing the displays, and getting everything ready for their arrival. It was crazy but so much fun. It may not seem like a really big deal, but UCDH is only 4 years old compared to the other very established hygiene schools in Utah and other places and so this was HUGE for us to get our name out there and on the nighttime news!! We got to advertise our $5 dollar cleanings and get out the information that we need people who haven't seen the dentist in a while. It was awesome for our school and for us as students to get patients. Here's the link to the news clip, now you can get a glimpse of what school is like! Never a dull moment in hygiene school....okay maybe that's not totally accurate but still..very fun day.
